A look inside the app
Real instruments
Piano, bells, xylophone, flute, trumpet and harp, all recorded from real instruments.
Singing animals
A cat, dog, duck, cow, lamb, chick, frog and pig sing every note.
Children's songs
Played by following the light; with the magic wand even the youngest finish the song.
Languages
Everything is clear from pictures; the few words and the note names come in 13 languages.
A real instrument behind every key
These are not toy beeps but recordings of real instruments. The pitch of every note was measured and tuned one by one, and the loudness of all sounds was matched, so no sound is ever unpleasantly loud.
- Piano
A warm piano sound
Recorded from a real upright piano; play with many fingers at once and chords sound lovely too.
- Bells
Sparkling chimes
The long, shimmering sound of metal bells, perfect for lullabies and slow songs.
- Xylophone
A bright wooden tock
The cheerful, short sound of wooden bars that rings out clearly in quick songs.
- Flute
Light as a bird
A sweet, airy flute; every touch plays a short, cute note.
- Trumpet
Bright as a brass band
A happy trumpet that turns Happy Birthday and Jingle Bells into a little parade.
- Harp
Soft as a fairy tale
The long, gentle sound of strings; slide a finger over the keys for a magical glissando.
The cats meow the melody
Pick an animal in the sound picker and animals in bow ties take the birds' places on the piano; every key is sung in that animal's voice, right on pitch. Meowing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with the cat choir or croaking Old MacDonald with the frogs makes children burst out laughing.
- 8 animalsA cat, dog, duck, cow, lamb, chick, frog and pig, each a real animal recording.
- Many fingers at onceSeveral keys can be pressed together; slide a finger over the keys and the choir sings one after another.
Follow the light, play the song
Pick a song and the next key shines with a star. Each time your child presses the shining key the song moves on, the birds sing and the notes fly; at the end confetti falls and everyone cheers. There is no such thing as a wrong key, and no penalties or scores.
- Magic wandFor the youngest: whichever key is pressed, the right note of the song plays.
- Listen buttonThe song plays by itself while the keys and the birds show how it goes.
- C D E or Do Re MiColorful note names on the keys follow each language's tradition and can be switched off.
Which songs are there?

A rainbow xylophone and a big drum stage
Every xylophone bar has its own color; a mallet strikes at a touch, and sliding a finger across the bars makes a rainbow glissando. On the drum stage a smiling bass drum, toms, a cymbal, tambourine, maracas, triangle, cowbell, bongos, sleigh bells and wind chimes are waiting.
- Beat buttonOn the drum stage it starts a gentle beat, and your child drums along.
- Record and play backPress the red record button, play a song, then hear it again with the green play button. No microphone is used; the app only remembers the keys pressed.

About Baby Piano
What age is it suitable for?
It is designed for children aged 1 to 6. The youngest press the keys to discover the sounds and the animals; with the magic wand every key plays the right note of the song. Older children learn to play the 12 songs themselves by following the light. For screen-time advice by age, see our parents' guide.
Are the sounds real instruments?
Yes. The piano, bells, xylophone, flute, trumpet, harp and drums are all recordings of real instruments. The pitch of every note was measured and tuned one by one, and the loudness of all sounds was matched.
Is it free, and does it have ads?
It is completely free. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions; all 6 instruments, 8 animal voices and 12 songs are open from the start.
Does the Record button use the microphone?
No. The app never uses the microphone and asks for no permissions. The Record button only remembers which keys your child pressed and when; the green play button plays the same notes back. The recording is stored only on the device.
What is easy song mode?
With easy song mode switched on in the parent area, every song starts with the magic wand on: whichever key your child presses, the next right note of the song plays. Little ones who cannot find the shining key yet still play the song to the end.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once downloaded, the app needs no internet connection; it even works in airplane mode.
Which languages are available?
It can be used in 13 languages: Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean. The note names on the keys change with the language too (C D E or Do Re Mi).
Which devices does it run on?
It can be downloaded from Google Play on Android 7.0 or later phones and tablets. The app is used in landscape; on a tablet the keys look even bigger.
