A look inside the app
Cute pages
Bold, clear outlines and big areas for little hands, with a lovable character on every page.
Books
Animals, Cars, Vehicles, Sea, Dinosaurs, Farm, Space, Sweets, Fairy Tales and Bugs.
Paints and tools
Each with its own texture and sound, plus 48 colors and 3 brush sizes.
Languages
The tools speak in pictures; the few words are in 13 languages.
Every paint feels different
The paints behave like real paint on the screen: they catch on the grain of the paper, watercolor spreads and dries, and the brush leaves raised strokes. Every tool also makes its own sound as you color.
- Crayon · Pastel
Grainy, chalky strokes
Crayon leaves little gaps in the paper's grain; pastel draws a soft, powdery line.
- Colored pencil · Marker
Fine details
The pencil draws thin and light; the marker gives bright color and gets darker where strokes overlap.
- Brush
Thick paint
The bristles leave lines in the paint, and thick paint looks raised in the light.
- Watercolor
Spreads on the paper
Wet paint flows across the paper, darkens at its edges and dries in a few seconds; colors that meet while wet blend together.
- Glitter · Neon · Rainbow · Spray
Fun effects
Sparkling glitter, a glowing neon pen, a rainbow pen that changes color by itself, and spray paint.
- Bucket · Pattern bucket · Stamps · Eraser
Quick and easy
The bucket fills an area with one tap; the pattern bucket adds polka dots, hearts, stars, stripes or a rainbow. 24 cute stamps and an eraser.
The color stays inside the lines
Little fingers often cross the lines. With the magic pen on, the color stays inside the first area the finger touches: however fast a child scribbles, the picture looks neat and lovely. Grown-ups can switch the magic pen off with one tap and color freely.
- UndoA wrong touch? The undo button brings back the last steps.
- Two-finger zoomSpread two fingers to zoom in for tiny details, pinch them to zoom back out.

About Coloring Friends
What age is it suitable for?
It is designed for children aged 3 to 8. With the magic pen on, the color never goes over the lines, so little ones get lovely results too; older children can turn the magic pen off and color freely. For screen-time advice by age, see our parents' guide.
What does the magic pen do?
With the magic pen on, the color stays inside the first area the finger touches; a finger that crosses a line does not paint outside that area. It is switched on and off with the magic wand button in the top bar or in the parent area.
Is it free, and does it have ads?
It is completely free. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions; all 80 pages and all 14 tools are open from the start.
Where are the colored pictures saved?
Unfinished pages and finished pictures are stored only on the device. Every finished picture is added to the My Pictures album in the app; no picture is ever sent over the internet. The pictures are deleted when the app is uninstalled.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once downloaded, the app needs no internet connection; it even works in airplane mode.
Which languages are available?
It can be used in 13 languages: Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean.
Which devices does it run on?
It can be downloaded from Google Play on Android 7.0 or later phones and tablets that support OpenGL ES 3.0. The app is used in landscape; on a tablet the pages look even bigger.
